Amber Eckert is a teacher, musician, writer, and leader. She received her Bachelor of Music from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music in 2018 where she majored in Violin Performance, with a secondary in piano, and minored in English Writing. At Baldwin Wallace, she studied violin with Dr. Julian Ross and piano with Dr. James Hirt. Amber is a private teacher of violin and piano and a group teacher of music theory, improvisation, music exploration and several other classes. She teaches at Maestro Minds School of Music and at her home studio. In the summer of 2017 and 2018, she partnered with Kyley Klass to create two summer camps called Explore the Arts and Worship Arts Camp 2018. Kyley and Amber saw a need for children to explore various art forms, realize their potential, and learn the importance of giving their gifts and talents back to the community. They met this need by teaching music theory, rhythm, improvisation, voice, acting, and dance classes, leading the students in various community service activities, and collaborating with them to create a showcase at the end of each camp. In addition to teaching, Amber loves to write non-fiction of any kind. She hopes to write program notes for an orchestra and grants for arts organizations in the future. Amber regularly substitutes for the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra and plays gigs such as weddings and professional dinners. She is available as a freelance violinist upon request.
While at Baldwin Wallace, Amber was a worship leader and musician with Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ). She has also played, and currently plays, for many other worship bands. Amber was the founder and student leader of the artist ministry as part of Cru where she guided artists in their faith and helped them discover how their art and faith coincide. In 2016, she spent two weeks in New York City on a mission trip with Transform Arts where she was challenged to reach the highest level of artistic, civic, leadership, and spiritual development.
Art, love, and community are at the core of Amber's personal and professional being. She loves conversation and music-making. Amber aims to create a positive, fun, motivational, and safe environment where students can discover their talents and potential and realize the influence they have on the world as an artist. Whether it's through her teaching, her writing, or her music, she longs to convey these values to bring hope and light to the world around her.
